Is vaccination effective to prevent "Delta" variant of Covid-19?

Delta variant of Corona virus first found in India in last February. According to virologists this variant 40% more infecting than the other variants of Corona virus. More than 10 millions people were infected by this delta variant in India. Thousands of people died in India due to infection of Delta variant. Hundreds of dead bodies were thrown into rivers due to lack of place of funerals. 



 This Delta variant has spreaded in 76 countries. In U. K third wave of Covid-19 strikes and infection is increasing day by day. 

 According to recently published research in Health Journal Lanset risk of hospitalisation is double in Delta variant than the previous Alpha variants. 

As per the Journal out of 19543 Alpha variant infected people 377 were admitted in hospitals. On the other hand out of 7723 Delta variant infected people 134 were admitted to hospitals. 

Can vaccination prevent Delta variant? 

As per the research if after getting two shots of vaccine risk of hospitalisation can be reduced to 70%. Pfizer's vaccines can prevent up-to 79% from Delta variant .

On contrary Pfizer is effective 92% against the Alpha variant. Oxford - Astrazeneca Vaccine's efficacy is 60% and 73% respectively against Delta and Alpha variants. Two shots of vaccine is more effective than one shot.
